Four arrested for blackmailing businessman

New Delhi, Aug 8 (IANS) A 21-year-old woman and her three accomplices have been arrested for blackmailing a Delhi businessman after entrapping him, police said Sunday.
The arrested have been identified as Sweta (name changed), Rahul Goel, 24, Ashish Agarwal, 26, and Vinod Arora, 42.

According to police, Goel suffered heavy losses in business and hatched a conspiracy to entrap the businessman in an attempt to recoup his losses.

“Sweta began chatting with the businessman and then started meeting in restaurants. Within a week she managed to lure the victim inside a hotel room and used a spy camera secretly to videograph them together,” a police official said.

Thereafter, the four demanded Rs.30 lakh from the businessman to hush up the issue. The businessman filed a complaint, and a case of extortion was filed by the crime branch Aug 6.

A day later, Sweta, Rahul and Ashish were arrested at Rithala Metro Railway Station in north Delhi, when they came to collect Rs.50,000 - the first installment. Arora was arrested later.

Police recovered a hidden camera, a laptop, mobile phones, SIM cards, the video recording and other documents from them.
