Former diplomat commits suicide in Delhi
April 15th, 2010 - 5:38 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 15 (IANS) A 79-year-old former diplomat committed suicide at his home in Preet Vihar area of east Delhi, police said Thursday.
K.D. Sharma shot himself with his licensed revolver early Thursday. “We received a call at 10 a.m. about the incident,” a police official said.
Sharma was Indian high commissioner to Pakistan in the 1980s during former president Zia-ul-Haq’s regime.
A suicide note has been recovered by the police. “The note said he was committing suicide because of his inability to cope with a stomach disease,” the police official added.
