Former air force officer commits suicide

Chandigarh, March 4 (IANS) A retired Air Vice Marshal shot himself with his licensed pistol at his residence here Wednesday, police said.
Manjit Singh Dhillon, 69, kept the barrel of his 12 bore pistol under his chin and pulled the trigger, investigating officer Anokh Singh told IANS.

“We have not recovered any suicide note from the spot. A team of forensic experts is scrutinizing the crime scene,” Singh said.

Dhillon and his wife had been staying in their Sector 34 residence for the past few years. Their son lives abroad and daughter is married to an army officer.

“Dhillon was reportedly disturbed for the past few days and showed signs of depression due to loneliness,” said Singh.
