Five wounded in explosion in Srinagar (Lead)
May 14th, 2010 - 7:13 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, May 14 (IANS) Four security personnel and a civilian were wounded in a powerful grenade explosion in Sarafkadal locality of the old city Friday, police said.
Separatist guerrillas hurled a grenade at a bunker of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) wounding three troopers, a policeman and a civilian, a senior police officer said.
“The injured were taken to a hospital immediately. Doctors have described the condition of the cop as critical,” the officer told IANS here.
The blast triggered panic and tension in the old city. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion.
