Five students hurt as bus overturns in Delhi (Lead, superseding earlier story)
July 12th, 2010 - 3:36 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 12 (IANS) Five school students were injured Monday when the overcrowded mini-bus they were travelling in overturned in north Delhi, police said.
The accident occurred around 7.30 a.m. near the Wazirabad bridge when the driver of the privately run RTV (mini-bus) lost control while taking a U-turn. The students were on their way to school.
“The bus overturned as it was overloaded. The five students were shifted to a hospital. They are out of danger,” a police officer said.
The owner and the driver of the bus have been arrested, he said.
