Five SIMI activists held in Madhya Pradesh

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), April 4 (IANS) Five members of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were nabbed in Madhya Pradesh, the police said here Friday. “The police Thursday detained five people in Jabalpur on the charges of having close links with the banned outfit. Interrogations revealed that they were active members of SIMI,” Police Superintendent Makrand Deoskar told reporters.

Those arrested have been identified as Sarfaraz, Mohammad Yunus, Gayasuddin, Shafiq and Nazeer Ansari.

On March 27, seven members of SIMI, ncluding its top leader Safdar Nagori, were arrested in Indore.
