Five pilgrims run over by train in Bihar
April 12th, 2011 - 9:51 pm ICT by IANSPatna, April 12 (IANS) Five Hindu pilgrims, including a woman, were Tuesday crushed to death by an express train in Bihar’s Bagaha district, police said.
Police officials said the five were run over by the speeding Satyagraha Express while crossing a railway bridge on the Jhapsa river to offer prayers at Madanpur temple on the occasion of Ramnavami.
After the accident, local residents protested, demanding compensation for the victim’s families.
