Five of family killed in Uttar Pradesh accident
February 11th, 2011 - 12:58 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Feb 11 (IANS) Five members of a family, including two children, were killed when a speeding truck ploughed into their car in Uttar Pradesh’s Ramabai Nagar district Friday, police said.The accident took place in Bhognipur area when the truck spun out of control and rammed into the Maruti 800 car.
“The collision was an intense one, following which all the five inside the car died on the spot,” police inspector Om Prakash told reporters in Ramabai Nagar, some 150 km from Lucknow.
“Those killed include two men, one woman and two children aged between 8 and 10 years,” he added.
According to the police, those killed were returning to their home in Kanpur after attending a marriage function in Ramabai Nagar.
Police are yet to arrest the truck driver.
