Five of family killed in Maharashtra accident
June 20th, 2011 - 11:18 pm ICT by IANSHingoli (Maharashtra), June 20 (IANS) Five members of a family, including three brothers and their sister, were killed when a truck rammed into their vehicle in this Maharashtra district, police said Monday.
“Both vehicles overturned after they collided with each other. The reason for the collision is yet to be ascertained,” an official from Hingoli Police Station told IANS.
Those killed have been identified as brothers Ram Rathi, Rameshwar Rathi, and Ramanand Rathi, their sister Sita Chandak and Rameshwar’s wife Radha.
“The truck driver fled the spot, but we have managed to nab him,” the official said.
“Four others, who have been injured have been admitted to the hospital and are stable,” he added.
