Five of a family killed in road accident
September 5th, 2011 - 11:16 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Sep 5 (IANS) Five members of a family were killed Monday when a speeding truck rammed into their car in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur district, police said.
The accident occurred in Lawan area of the district, some 120 km from here.
“Five of a family were travelling in a Tata Nano car when a speeding truck rammed into it. All five, including three women, were killed on the spot,” police officer O.P. Sharma said. The victims belonged to a family based in the state’s Janjgir district.
Police have seized the 10-wheeler truck that was loaded with cement bags but the driver managed to escape. A police case has been registered against the absconding driver.
