Five killed in Uttar Pradesh bus accident

Lucknow, Aug 18 (IANS) Five people were killed and 15 others injured when a bus they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh Monday, the police said. “The accident took place in the Gangapur town when the bus skidded off the road and plunged into the gorge,” police officer Apoorva Singh told IANS by phone.

Rampur is over 260 km from Lucknow.

Following the accident, five people died on the spot, while others were rushed to a district hospital, he added.
