Five killed in Himachal accident
October 7th, 2009 - 9:54 pm ICT by IANSShimla, Oct 7 (IANS) Five labourers were killed when a tipper skidded off the road and fell into a 400-feet gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, police said Wednesday.
“Five labourers were killed when the tipper skidded off the road and rolled down into a 400-feet gorge Tuesday night near Manikaran,” Superintendent of Police K.K. Indoria told IANS by phone.
He said the labourers were employees of the Malana hydroelectric power project. Three killed were from Nepal and two from Himachal Pradesh.
“Two injured have been admitted to Kullu district hospital,” he said. The accident took place 350 km from the state capital.
