Five killed in explosion in Andhra house
November 16th, 2009 - 2:27 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Hyderabad, Nov 16 (IANS) Five people were killed and 20 injured as explosives stored illegally in a house went off in Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district Monday, police said.
The accident occurred in Narayanpur of Guntur district, about 300 km from here.
Four houses were destroyed in the massive explosion. Officials said the death toll might go up as six of the injured are said to be in a critical condition.
The blast occurred in gelatine sticks stored illegally in the house of a businessman, who used to sell them to mine owners in the district.
The injured have been admitted to government-run hospitals.
