Five killed as gas cylinder explodes
August 8th, 2010 - 12:12 am ICT by IANSBathinda (Punjab), Aug 7 (IANS) Five people, including three women and two children, were killed and two others injured when a cooking gas cylinder exploded in a house in this Punjab town Saturday evening, police said.
“The cylinder burst while the women were preparing food in the kitchen. Besides, two men also sustained injuries and they were shifted to the civil hospital. Doctors said that they are out of danger and their condition is stable,” a police official said here.
He added the incident seemed an accidental explosion, but police was looking into the matter.
Bathinda is around 220 km from Chandigarh.
