New Delhi, Oct 27 (IANS) Five people, including a teenager, were arrested here Wednesday for the kidnapping and murder of two youths in the past two months, police said.

Rahul Gupta (19), Hari Singh (44), Usman Khan (22), Radhey Shyam (32) and Dinesh Kumar (27) were arrested for kidnapping and killing Nikesh and Yash, a police official said.

The five were arrested on a tip-off from Anand Vihar bus terminal two days ago, he said.

“Two youths Nikesh and Yash were kidnapped and murdered by the five accused. While the body of Nikesh was recovered, police are yet to locate Yash’s body,” the official said.

The kidnappings and murders took place in the past two months and the gang of five had allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs.1 crore for Yash’s release and Rs.50 lakh for releasing Nikesh. Yash was 14, Nikesh was 17.

Yash, a resident of Vikaspuri, was kidnapped Sep 9 and his father received a ransom call after a week.

The five accused apparently killed both the hostages after receiving some money. Nikesh’s father is reported to have paid Rs.2.5 lakh to the kidnappers at Bareilly railway station.
