Five die in Orissa road accident
February 28th, 2010 - 1:39 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Bhubaneswar, Feb 28 (IANS) Five people, including a one-year-old child and a woman, died in a road mishap early Sunday in Puri district of Orissa, police said.
Among the five people, four were of the same family from West Bengal.
The accident took place when an auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a speeding truck near Pipili in Puri. “Two people, including the driver, were killed on the spot while three others died in a hospital in Bhubaneswar,” a police officer said.
Another member of the family, Mayuri Jaiswal, is battling for her life in the hospital.
The police officer said the truck driver was absconding.
