Five die in China mine collapse
September 25th, 2011 - 5:58 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Sep 25 (IANS) Five people were killed and two injured after a cave-in at a coal mine shaft in southwest China’s Yunnan province, authorities said Sunday.
The accident happened at 3.19 p.m. Saturday in a pit of the Yunwei Group, reported Xinhua.
Seven miners were trapped underground, while 16 escaped after the accident happened, said an official.
Five bodies had been recovered by Sunday morning.
Two rescued miners were hospitalised.
