Fire in Punjab multiplex
May 14th, 2011 - 10:39 pm ICT by IANSAmritsar, May 14 (IANS) A major fire broke out on the second floor of a multiplex in this Punjab city Saturday, officials said. No casualties were reported.
“From preliminary investigation, it seems that an electrical short-circuit in the generator room caused the fire. There was no loss of life and nobody got injured as the multiplex was immediately evacuated by the rescue team and local police,” K.S. Pannu, deputy commissioner of Amritsar, told IANS.
A major tragedy was averted as many people were present inside the Big Cinema multiplex when the fire broke out.
