Fire in Kolkata factory
December 20th, 2011 - 2:34 am ICT by IANSKolkata, Dec 20 (IANS) A big fire broke out in a rubber factory at Tiljala area in east Kolkata Monday night, said fire brigade sources.
There are no reports of any loss of life so far, police sources said.
Fifteen fire tenders have been rushed to the spot to control the blaze, which has spread to the second and third floors of the building. The fire broke out at 11.00 p.m..
Fire Services Minister Javed Khan visited the site to supervise the fire-fighting operation.
The firemen’s work, however, has turned difficult as the area is very congested.
The cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained.
