Fire at slum cluster in Delhi
June 22nd, 2012 - 1:14 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 22 (IANS) Around 100 shanties were gutted in a fire in a slum cluster in the capital Friday morning. No casualty has been reported so far, an official said.
The fire broke out in the slum cluster, off the Mata Sundari Road near the ITO in New Delhi area. Within minutes, the blaze engulfed the shanties in the area, a police official said.
“On receiving a call around 9.30 a.m., 30 fire tenders were pressed into service to control the fire which is still raging two hours on,” said a fire department official.
The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained.
