Fire at power substation in Uttar Pradesh
June 3rd, 2010 - 11:58 am ICT by IANSLucknow, June 3 (IANS) A major fire broke out at a power substation Thursday in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli district, police said. No one was injured in the incident.
At least eight fire tenders have been pressed into service to douse the fire at the Sahupuri power sub-station.
“The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. Besides Chanduali, fire tenders have also been called from the neighbouring Varanasi district,” Superintendent of Police Ram Pal told reporters in Chandauli, some 300 km from Lucknow.
The incident paralysed power supply to various areas in Chanduali and Varanasi districts.
