Fire at cosmetic shop
March 16th, 2011 - 12:28 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 15 (IANS) Goods worth Rs.16 lakh were destroyed in a fire at a sports and cosmetics shop in east Delhi Tuesday, officials said. No injuries were reported.
A fire brigade officer said the blaze at the Winner Sports and Cosmetics Centre, on the ground floor of a three-storey building in Jafrabad area was noticed around 6 a.m. when smoke was coming out of the shop.
“Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took around half an hour to douse the blaze. Nobody was reported injured in the incident,” said the officer said.
The shop’s owner, Mohammad Naim pegged the loss at around Rs.16 lakh.
Naim stays in this three-storey building and runs the shop on the ground floor.
