FIR lodged against IPS officer in UP
March 4th, 2012 - 2:37 am ICT by IANSLucknow, March 4 (IANS) A case was filed Saturday against an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, posted in the police headquarters, for threatening his junior staff with dire consequences. here
The complaint was filed at the Mahanagar police station by Jai Prakash Kanojia, a stenographer, against Rahul Asthana, a UP cadre IPS officer, posted as Superintendent of Police (Rules and Manuals). The incident occurred Feb 29.
Senior officials, having considered the matter, gave their go-ahead to action against Asthana. A case under section 504 of the IPC, related to intentional insult, has been lodged against the IPS officer.
