September 3rd, 2011 - 11:12 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 3 (IANS) A youth hailing from Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been arrested for raping a 30-year-old Finnish woman at a guest house in south Delhi, police said Saturday.
“The victim went to have dinner in a restaurant in Greater Kailash Friday night. After dinner, she went to a discotheque, where she met the accused, Elvis Menttanna, 25. They danced together and had drinks there,” a police officer said.
When she was leaving for home and looking for a taxi, Menttanna offered to drop her. He then took her to a guest house in Hauz Khas and raped her.
“He also threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to the police,” the officer added.
However, she gathered courage and approached the police, following which she was taken to a hospital for a medical examination, which confirmed sexual assault.
The victim works in a private company in Delhi.
Menttanna lived in Mumbai with his parents for the past few years. He had come to Delhi for some work.
