Finance company office looted
May 10th, 2011 - 8:25 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 10 (IANS) A gang of five robbers struck at the office of a finance company here Tuesday, taking away Rs.3.5 lakh in cash and gold of an unspecified amount after holding the staff at gunpoint, police said.
“The robbers barged into the premises of a Muthoot Finance office in Pandav Nagar area (of east Delhi) at around 1.30 p.m. and forced the staff to open up the lockers,” said a senior police officer.
“They decamped with lots of gold jewellery and cash amounting Rs 3.5 lakh from the counter,” said the officer adding police was trying to ascertain the amount of gold looted.
A forensic team visited the office to take samples while investigations are underway, the officer added.
