Fennell discusses CWG with Sheila Dikshit
August 19th, 2010 - 1:33 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 19 (IANS) A day after visiting the Commonwealth Games venues, Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) president Mike Fennell Thursday met Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to discuss the Oct 3-14 mega event.
Fennell met Dikshit at her residence for around 30 minutes from 9 a.m., a source said. Several issues regarding the Games came up for discussion, the source added.
Fennel, who Wednesday inspected various stadiums and was impressed with the work and facilities, is also scheduled to meet Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy.
The CGF president is on a two-day visit to Delhi to monitor the preparedness for the sporting extravaganza.
The organising committee has set Aug 25 as the deadline when all the venues will be fully completed. The Games Village will be thrown open for athletes from Sep 16.
