Mumbai, May 6 (IANS) The daughter of the policeman, who helped capture Ajmal Amir Kasab before falling to the bullets of the Pakistani terrorist, said Thursday that her dad’s courage has paid off.
“My father’s sacrifice has paid off,” said Vaishali, 23-year-old daughter of assistant sub-inspector Tukaram Omble who held on to the barrel of the AK-47 Kasab was firing from on the night of Nov 26-27, 2008, and helped capture him alive.

“I am very happy that Kasab has been awarded the death sentence. He deserves it,” she said soon after a special court here pronounced the capital punishment for the Pakistani.

“The Indian government should also ensure the arrest of all the accused in the attack. They should meet the same fate as Kasab,” Vaishali told reporters.

The slain policeman’s brother, Eknath Omble, said: “I am glad Special Judge M.L. Tahiliyani awarded Kasab a death sentence. My only appeal now is to carry out his execution at the earliest.”

Omble was unarmed during the 26/11 attack, but helped capture Kasab alive, the only one of the 10 terrorists who had sneaked into Mumbai from Pakistan.

Omble had held onto Kasab’s gun, enabling others to overpower him. But Kasab fired several shots, killing Omble.

Omble was the last man Kasab killed while elsewhere in Mumbai the terrorist mayhem raged on.
