Family of three killed in Uttar Pradesh
November 23rd, 2010 - 5:57 pm ICT by IANSAllahabad, Nov 23 (IANS) A widow and her son and daughter were Tuesday found murdered at their residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad district, police said.
Kusum Devi, 50, her son Pawan, 23, and daughter Kiran, 20, were found murdered inside their Khaira village home.
The police say the motive behind the killings was not robbery as the valuables in the house were not missing.
“It appears the three were assaulted with some sharp-edged weapons. They were found murdered in different rooms of the house,” police inspector R.S. Yadav told reporters in Allahabad, some 200 km from Lucknow.
“Preliminary investigations indicate the three may have been killed last (Monday) night,” he added.
The three bodies were recovered only when locals approached the police after Devi did not respond to repeated knocks at the door.
