Family attacked for trying to save dogs
May 4th, 2011 - 10:18 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 4 (IANS) A couple and their son tried to save stray dogs that were assaulted by men outside their house here but instead came under vicious attack, leading to their hospitalization.
Dura Singh, his wife Lali and son Dinesh of Uttam Nagar came out of their home Wednesday after hearing the barks of some stray dogs.
According to police, they saw some residents pelt stones at the animals.
“The family asked the men to behave. But this did not go down well with the attackers who, after an argument, assaulted the family,” a police official said.
The family was attacked with meat cleavers, causing serious injuries. All eight attackers have been arrested, police said.
