Fake friendship club busted
September 25th, 2011 - 12:43 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS) A total of 18 people, including 16 women, have been arrested for running a fake friendship club and massage training centre here, police said Saturday.
The accused were arrested Friday from Uttam Nagar in west Delhi, from where they were operating. The women arrested are in the age group of 18 to 28, a police officer said.
The gang had 24 accounts in nine banks, which were opened through forged documents.
“The gang used to dupe people in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Uttarakhand. In the name of arranging friendship with women and providing massage training, they would ask the callers to deposit money in bank accounts. After getting the money, they would stop taking calls from that particular number,” the officer added.
