Explosives seized from Maoist hideout
January 25th, 2011 - 9:56 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Jan 25 (IANS) A huge cache of explosives was recovered from a Maoist hideout in Jharkhand’s Chatra district Tuesday, police said.Acting on a tip-off, police raided a house at Sonpur Bigha village under Huntergaj police station and recovered 150 kg of ammonium nitrate and 20 kg of gelatine sticks.
According to police sources, the explosives were meant to be used for attacks on the Republic Day Jan 26.
Chatra is around 160 km from Ranchi.
