Kolkata, April 3 (IANS) A powerful explosion ripped through a house in West Bengal’s Siliguri town Thursday, killing three people, the police said here. Inspector General of Police (North Bengal) R.J.S Nawla told IANS: “The explosion occurred from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) while the three were making bombs. Till now we have not been able to identify them.”

The victims, suspected to have links with terrorist outfits, included a woman.

A pistol, a timer and a transistor have been recovered from the house in Champasari area of Siliguri.

Owner of the house Ramapati Sahu has been arrested. Nawla said the house was rented out to some students from Sikkim two months ago.
