Aligarh, July 28 (IANS) Foreign students at Aligarh Muslim University will now have exclusive residential facilities, a university official said Monday. “A hostel exclusively for foreign students will be set up on the campus,” AMU spokesperson Rahat Abrar told IANS.
The hostel will cater to the residential needs of about 800 foreign students, especially from Middle East, Africa, South East Asia and other regions, who are pursuing different courses in the varsity, he added.
The human resource and development (HRD) ministry has already accepted the varsity’s proposal to set up the hostel for foreign students, officials said.
AMU aims to start construction by the beginning of the next academic session, officials added.
