February 25th, 2012 - 2:59 pm ICT by IANSShimla, Feb 25 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh is hiring retired armed forces personnel to invigilate during school examinations across the state.
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education is hiring 32 ex-servicemen to guard against cheating in Classes 10 and 12 final exams.
The ex-servicemen would be posted at ’sensitive’ examination centres in the board examinations beginning March 2, board chairman Balram Sharma told IANS Saturday.
He said the services of the former defence personnel have been hired for the first time.
In board’s parlance, a ’sensitive’ examination centre is that which has a history of mass cheating.
The board had identified 121 ’sensitive’ and 90 ‘hyper sensitive’ centres.
According to the board, 146,278 students will appear in Class 10 and 108,774 will take their Class 12 final exams.
