November 27th, 2011 - 11:09 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Nov 27 (IANS) Pakistan’s former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Sunday joined cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) party as it was “working toward justice and change”, a media report said.
Qureshi had parted ways with President Asif Ali Zardari’s Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and also resigned from the National Assembly earlier this month.
Addressing thousands of supporters and followers in Sindh province, Qureshi said: “I join the party that is working towards justice and change. I am now part of Imran Khan’s party.”
He also said Pakistan’s nuclear programme was not safe in the
hands of Zardari.
He said he would reveal more about nuclear programme at the party’s next public meeting in Karachi.
Qureshi had to step down as the country’s foreign minister over the arrest of US official Raymond Davis . He had accused Pakistan’s interior ministry of “mishandling” the case.
