Escaped rape accused nabbed again in Madhya Pradesh
December 7th, 2009 - 4:31 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Bhopal, Dec 7 (IANS) A man, who is accused of raping and killing several women in Madhya Pradesh, was arrested Sunday, less than a fortnight after he escaped from police custody, authorities said Monday.
“Raju Bhilala, who had given police the slip and escaped to Mumbai in a truck while being taken to a court for hearing on Nov 24, was arrested from Palda locality as soon as he returned to Indore Sunday,” Indore’s Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Arvind Tiwari told IANS.
Bhilala has been accused of raping and murdering several women in January, March and July this year.
“The modus operandi of Bhilala was to strike at houses where women were alone. He used to rape and strangle them and then loot the house,” Tiwari said.
