Elephant dies at Chhattisgarh zoo
November 24th, 2011 - 1:02 am ICT by IANSRaipur, Nov 23 (IANS) Days after a tigress was found killed in a Chhattisgarh sanctuary, an elephant died at a zoo in Bilaspur district, forest officials said Wednesday.
A post-mortem report confirmed Wednesday that the one-and-half-month old elephant had died Tuesday at Kanan Pendari zoo, mainly due to dehydration.
Forest officials had brought the jumbo to Kanan Pendari Nov 5 in an injured condition from a forested area of Raigarh district after it got separated from its herd.
