Election commissioners to visit Lucknow Friday
January 5th, 2012 - 7:24 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 5 (IANS) Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. Quraishi will visit Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow Friday to review poll preparedness in the state, which will see seven-phase voting beginning Feb 4 and ending Feb 28, an official said.
Quraishi will be accompanied by the two Election Commissioners, V.S. Sampath and H.S. Brahma.
“The ECI (Election Commission of India) will be visiting Lucknow tomorrow (Friday) for one day to review the preparations of elections in the state,” the official added.
Counting of votes in the state is scheduled for March 4.
