Elderly woman murdered in south Delhi
October 31st, 2011 - 11:01 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 31 (IANS) An 80-year-old woman was Monday found murdered in her ransacked house in south Delhi, police said. Her Nepali domestic help is missing.
The dead body of Vimla Shah was found Monday morning in the bathroom of her Jangpura extension house. Her hands were tied and there were injury marks on her neck, said police.
“We suspect the Nepali servant,” said an police official. The body was discovered by neighbours.
“The victim was smothered to death with a pillow. We have informed her son and would ascertain the total amount of cash robbed once he arrives here,” said the official.
According to police, Shah lived with her son and daughter-in-law while her grandchildren were settled in Singapore.
“Her son and daughter-in-law had gone to Singapore Oct 17 to meet their children. The woman was being looked after by two helps - a woman employed since 10 years and a Nepali man hired a month back,” said the official
