Elderly woman killed by robbers
December 20th, 2011 - 8:11 pm ICT by IANSGhaziabad, Dec 20 (IANS) An elderly woman was killed by robbers, who fled with cash and jewellery worth about a lakh of rupees from a house in the posh Kavinagar area here, police said Tuesday.
Prakash Juneja, 76, wife of Yograj Juneja, was found murdered in her drawing room, by her husband when he returned home around 10 p.m. Monday, police said. Her hands were found tied behind the back of the chair she was sitting on, they said.
Both former government employees, the Junejas were living here after their retirement. Prakash was a lecturer with the Delhi Board of Education and Yograj was a section officer with the Union Public Service Commission. They were running a billiards game centre on the ground floor of their residence while living on the first floor.
“A team of policemen has been constituted to nab the robbers,” said Circle Officer Praveen Ranjan Singh.
