Elderly man chases pickpocket, helps in arrest
January 20th, 2011 - 12:11 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 19 (IANS) Delhi Police apprehended a pickpocket with the help of a 60-year-old man, who chased him in northwest Delhi, police said Wednesday.Two pickpockets pulled out Rs.4,000 from Satish Chaddha’s pocket while he was buying a ticket in a bus in Rohini Tuesday.
“Chaddha caught one of them but he had passed on the cash to his aide. When the vehicle halted at the bus stop and both the men got down, Chaddha also got down and chased them,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Chhaya Sharma said.
Harish, a beat constable, who was present near the bus stop, apprehended one of the accused identified as Kirpal Singh, 21. Meanwhile, his associate Anand escaped.
