Eight-year-old raped in Delhi
March 23rd, 2011 - 9:52 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 23 (IANS) An eight-year-old was allegedly raped by her uncle in the national capital, police said Wednesday.
Police said the incident took place Tuesday afternoon at Aman Vihar area when the victim’s parents had gone to a marriage ceremony.
“The accused has been identified as Rajesh Tiwari, 28. He allegedly raped the girl when she was alone at home,” said a police officer.
“The victim told her mother about the incident when she returned home,” added the officer.
The girl, a Class 4 student, was taken to Sanjay Gandhi hospital where doctors confirmed the sexual assault. The officer said Tiwari was arrested Wednesday morning.
