Eight tourists killed in Orissa road accident
October 9th, 2011 - 11:10 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Oct 9 (IANS) Eight tourists from West Bengal, including two women, were killed when the vehicle carrying them rammed into a stationary truck in Balasore district of Orissa Sunday, police said.
The accident occurred on National Highway No.5 near Kupura Square, about 150 kms from here.
District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said seven of the deceased were employees of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy Medical College and Hospital at Haladia town in West Bengal.
The tourists were on their way to the beach town of Puri.
