The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the maiden CTET for appointment of teachers for Classes 1-8 in central government and CBSE-affiliated schools.
“The test will be organised at 1,178 centres in 86 cities across the country. Two centres are overseas. The test will be held on June 26, for which the process of dispatching admit cards has already started,” a CBSE statement said.
The validity period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment is seven years. There is no restriction on the number of attempts for acquiring a CTET certificate. A person who gets the CTET certificate may also appear again for improvement of score.
“About 7.9 lakh candidates have been registered for this examination,” the statement said.
The CBSE has also uploaded candidates’ information, including roll number and the centre of examination, on its website www.cbse.nic.in.
A control room will also start functioning from June 20 for the benefit of candidates.
