Eight killed in road accident in Haryana
January 8th, 2009 - 12:20 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Hissar (Haryana), Jan 7 (IANS) Eight people died and three other were seriously injured when a jeep collided with a truck in Haryana late Wednesday, the police said.The accident occurred on the Hissar-Barwala road, some 300 km from Chandigarh, the police said.
“The deaths resulted from the head-on collision between a jeep and the truck. Both vehicles were travelling at a very high speed. Eight people died on the spot while the three others were immediately shifted to the nearest civil hospital, where their condition is stated to be critical,” a police official said.
He added: “We have informed the family members of all the victims as well as the injured after their identification.”
