Eight held with heroin worth Rs.2 crore
February 14th, 2011 - 6:32 pm ICT by IANSGhazipur (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 14 (IANS) Eight men were arrested here in Uttar Pradesh Monday with heroin worth around Rs.2 crore, police said.The men were nabbed from Nandganj area, following a joint operation by the district police and the special operation group (SOG).
“Acting on a tip-off, we arrested the eight men while they were on their way to Delhi for handing over the consignment of the drugs to the clients there,” police inspector J.P. Tiwari told reporters in Ghazipur, some 300 km from Lucknow.
According to police, the men sent illegal drugs from Bihar to various places in other states like Haryana, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi.
