Eight dead in Indore explosives factory blast
October 6th, 2011 - 9:55 pm ICT by IANSIndore, Oct 6 (IANS) Eight people were killed and at least four injured in a blast in an explosives factory in this Madhya Pradesh city Thursday, police said.
A blaze started in the factory after the blast at around 1.30 p.m. in Kamla Nagar locality. The injured were rushed to a hospital.
“The total number of dead may go up to 10 as several of the injured are critical,” Senior Superintendent of Police D. Srinivas Rao told IANS.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced Rs.1 lakh compensation to the kin of each of the deceased and Rs.25,000 each for the injured.
