Eid-ul-Fitr to be celebrated Saturday
September 9th, 2010 - 10:52 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 9 (IANS) Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Delhi Saturday, Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari said Thursday.
“Since moon was not sighted till late evening, the fasting will continue till Friday, and Eid will be celebrated Saturday,” Jama Masjid spokesperson Amanullah told IANS quoting the Shahi Imam.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for Eid prayers in Jama Masjid, Fatehpuri Mosque and other venues in the capital, said a police official.
Saturday will mark the end of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting.
