Duping racket busted, one arrested in Delhi

New Delhi, June 20 (IANS) Delhi Police arrested a 36-year-old woman for her involvement in alleged duping of people with job offers, police said Monday.

Bharti Saini, a resident of Lajpat Nagar area of south Delhi, was arrested from Janakpuri in west Delhi Sunday, according to a senior police officer.

According to a police official, around 250 people from Punjab stormed into the office of UK International in vishwadeep Tower in Janakpuri.

“We found that the company had cheated around 1,600 people from Punjab after receiving Rs.20,000 from each of them on the promise of securing them jobs in Singapore including that of carpenter, driver, operator, cook, mason, plumber and helper,” said the officer.

He added that one Rajesh based in Mumbai was running the racket with the help of Arun Sharma, Paramjeet and Kapoor Singh, all from Punjab. Bharti Saini was in charge of the Janakpuri office, he said.

Police recovered Rs.3,62,800 and 12 tickets from Delhi to Singapore from the office.
