Drugs seized, five arrested

New Delhi, Aug 8 (IANS) Police said Monday they had arrested five people, including a Nigerian, and seized drugs valued at over Rs.1 crore in the international market.

Gulsher, 37, and Nabi Hassan, 26, were arrested Aug 5 from Bawana in north Delhi.

Their partner Mohd Alam, 50, was arrested the next day from the same locality. A total of 1.15 kg of heroin was recovered, police said.

A 28-year-old Nigerian textile merchant was arrested Saturday from south Delhi’s East of Kailash area and 15 grams of cocaine valued at Rs.11 lakh was recovered from him, said police.

The Nigerian, who lived in Delhi’s Janakpuri area, frequented bars and clubs “and he has a long list of affluent clients from all over the city”, said an official.

In another incident, 35-year-old Allauddin was arrested Monday near east Delhi’s Millennium Park and 25 kg of ganja worth Rs.2 lakh was recovered from him.
